This USB will Self Destruct…

Ok, Mr. Phelps, let’s put this one in the “bazaar-advancements-in-technology” category.
Hoshino, a company based in Hong Kong, released what is considered the first “green-friendly” biodegradable USB disk. The USB keys are corn-based and break down over time.
I can’t say I noticed a ton of USB disks littering the sidewalks or landfills but who knows. Perhaps it is a step in the right direction in the creation of technological products that are biodegradable given the disposable nature of our society today.

Iphone Application Proves “You are Rich”

I don’t know whether to feel sorry for some people or laugh my A$$ off.
The recent release of 2.0 software for the Apple iPhone enabled users to buy various “applications” from the iTunes store and I can say first hand that a lot of the applications are both fun and useful. Some of course are not.
A developer (going by the name Armin Heinrich) created an application called “I am Rich” and put it for sale on the iTunes Store for $999.99. The funny (or not so funny) part is that some people actually bought it.
The application was nothing more than a glowing ruby icon on the iPhone screen (nor did the creator say it did anything else).
For a while the application could still be found on iTunes but with the caveat, “not available in the US.” – Given the state of the US dollar that makes sense.
